Mitterbach train station

Mitterbach station is one of the mountain line stops on the Mariazell Railway - and is also the last stop before the Mariazell pilgrimage terminus. Thanks to its direct location in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park, it is easy to hike to and discover the most beautiful excursion destinations from Mitterbach.

Mitterbach: From the train station to the mountain

The Gemeindealpe Mitterbach is just 500 meters from the train station. Two modern chairlifts take guests up to the summit of the Gemeindealpe in comfort - at 1,626 meters above sea level. In addition to magnificent panoramic views, the leisure area offers relaxing hiking trails and great mountain bike routes. The family-friendly Terzerhaus is particularly popular - with a mountain cart and monster scooter track, playground and family-friendly circular hiking trail.

Another highlight at the Mitterbach station is the Erlaufsee lake - with a sandy beach and boat hire. Other excursion tips include the "hikeable" Ötschergräben, the impressive Lassing Falls and the Wienerbruck reservoir.
