The NÖ Landesweingut Retz - Gut Altenberg is a remarkable winery that extends over 11 hectares and is located in the best Retz vineyards 'Altenberg' and 'Züngel'. The southern slopes of these regions are known for their diverse microclimates and soil conditions, ranging from primary rock to loess and clay. This diversity is reflected in the wines, which have a distinct and unmistakable character. The estate's red wines are matured both traditionally and in barriques, with the best grapes being combined in the 'Granat'. The best wines of each vintage are labeled 'Premium'.
