Platz der vergessenen Völker

Picnic grounds

Description

Between Euratsfeld and Neuhofen an der Ybbs, not far from the Perbersdorfer wine tavern, five mighty granite rocks draw the eye: The Square of Forgotten Peoples, a 20 x 50 m memorial site, symbolizes the five continents of the world with its rocks and is a memorial for more tolerance and understanding between peoples.
In 996, numerous different peoples inhabited the area that was then called "Ostarrichi". This is why the German-Chilean artist Miguel Horn erected this memorial in 1999 to commemorate the peoples who were expelled from the area in the course of history.
The Square of the Forgotten Peoples is freely accessible at all times, by car/bicycle and on foot, there are no parking spaces available
