Radlerrast Grimus Mühle

Description

20 years ago, Gerda Grimus and her husband Martin discovered the then still sleepy Pläßmühle - now Grimus Mühle - in Breitenwaida. The mill was built in the 16th century as a hunting lodge and later converted into a mill - one of around 40 former mills along the Göllersbach. The couple immediately fell in love with this magical place, which they have lovingly renovated step by step over the years and transformed into a very special gem.

For Gerda Grimus, this place has become a very special one, and after the death of her husband, she now wants to open the mill to others and turn it into a place of encounter. This is how the idea for the cyclists' rest stop came about, which is located directly on the route of the Pankraz cycle path and the "Tut-Gut" hiking route 2, on the beautiful Göllersbach stream.

"The mill is a very special place of strength for me. It should now also become a place for others to rest and relax. As many cyclists use the route between Dietersdorf and Breitenwaida, our mill is the ideal place to rest, enjoy a refreshment or snack, meet friends or simply recharge your batteries."

The first cyclists and walkers have been able to stop in since Easter Monday, April 1, 2024. It is open daily from 10.00 - 20.00 in the months of April, May, June, September and October. The Radler-Rast is closed in July and August and during the colder months. Weinviertel specialties are served: Wine, Frizzante, water, apple juice, beer, spread breads, cakes and coffee. If Gerda Grimus is not at home, guests can help themselves - again for a fee, of course.
