History

During the construction of the originally planned route of the Leobersdorf railway, little value was placed on the benefits of passenger transport. The focus was on the freight traffic handled by the railway line and the corresponding economic development that was to accompany it. Even though passenger transport on the line has ended in Hainfeld since 2001, the surrounding area has lost none of its charm and is a welcome invitation to make a trip in the Lower Austrian foothills of the Alps an experience.
