The charming reception building at Rosenau station in the Lower Austrian district of Amstetten sets a beautiful accent in the natural region around the Sonntagberg with its blue details. The glazed waiting bunk offers protection from wind and weather during any waiting times. In addition to the publicly accessible sanitary facilities, a ticket machine is also offered.

After a short walk of a good quarter of an hour from Rosenau station, the Sonntagberg Military Museum can be reached. On more than 2000m2 more than 700 uniforms, 40 motorcycles and another 20 military vehicles have been collected. Even two tanks and two tracked vehicles are on display and complement with many other exhibits such as ammunition and photos the impressive exhibition, which deals mainly with the history of the gendarmerie in the period from 1850 to 2005.
