Description

In the middle of Lower Austria's Mostviertel region in the district of St. Pölten Land is the modern Groß Sierning railroad station in the village of the same name. The two platforms, which are structurally separated from each other, can be reached safely via an underpass and offer a sheltered and light-flooded stay with the glass waiting berths. Passengers receive information on current train operations via loudspeaker announcements and digital train destination displays. Tickets can be purchased just as conveniently from the ticket machine installed on site.

Route information

  • The Groß Sierning stop is located along the Westbahn line from Linz to Vienna.
  • Regional trains to the main station in St. Pölten stop here.
  • Regional express trains run via Pöchlarn along the Erlauftalbahn to Scheibbs and Wieselburg.
  • There are Cityjet trains to Amstetten.
  • A bus stop with connections to Melk is just a few minutes' walk away.

Pielach Valley cycle path

The Pielach is a great place to cycle. The Pielach Valley Cycle Path, which leads from Melk to Loich-Dobersnigg, also visits the village of Groß Sierning on its route. Enchanting landscapes and numerous power spots can be discovered along the family-friendly route and make for a relaxing excursion into nature.
