History
Originally, the route was planned as a connection between the southern and western railway lines. Due to several economically important large-scale enterprises, which had settled in this area in the course of the time by the existing water power, also their demand handling and access to the railway network were in the foreground. This goal was already achieved in the course of the first years due to the enormously efficient and coordinated railway operation.
