Station Nieder Fladnitz

Train station

Description

The typical station building in Niederfladnitz with its covered veranda is located in the middle of the former northern railway line, which has been operated as the Reblaus Express nostalgia train since 2001. The station was used for loading timber goods until the end of 2010.

Starting point

It's up to you whether you want to take a leisurely one-hour walk to the Kaja castle ruins in Merkersdorf or cycle the other half. A visit is worthwhile in any case.

If you spend an hour on your bike, you will reach the tranquil village of Felling in a northerly direction. This is home to Austria's only mother-of-pearl manufactory with the largest mother-of-pearl button in the world.

It's worth taking a look at the Reblaus Express' seasonal packages!

The imposing Ruegers Castle in Riegersburg can also be reached in an hour by bike. A guided tour is only possible for groups in June and September with advance booking.

It is also worth getting off at Niederfladnitz for a shorter stop. The town center is less than a 10-minute walk from the station and is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The nostalgic train, the Reblaus Express, is a great way to get back home.
