Säusenstein station is located in the Melk district of Lower Austria's Mostviertel region, close to the town center. The bright bunks offer waiting passengers shelter from the wind and weather. Thanks to the notices and loudspeaker announcements, passengers are well informed about the current rail traffic. The ticket machine on site allows tickets to be purchased around the clock.
Any waiting times often seem too short, given the fantastic view of the Danube directly from the platforms.
Route information
The Säusenstein stop is on the Westbahn line and is located right next to the Danube.
- Regional trains along the Westbahn line to Amstetten and St. Valentin are served here.
- Trains also run to St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof and Wien Westbahnhof.
- Regional trains to Kleinreifling on the Rudolfbahn line also connect here.
Säusenstein Abbey
The historic Säusenstein Abbey is located in the immediate vicinity of the station. The impressive building is home to a private school and is a regular backdrop for courses and events. The former monastery can also be visited on request. Not far away, the Säusenstein parish is also well worth a visit.
