The well-maintained and modern station in St. Georgen am Steinfelde is located along the Traisentalbahn and serves regional trains to Hainfeld and Schrambach as well as to St. Pölten main station.
The unmanned stop offers protection from wind and weather with its covered waiting shelter, and there is a baby carriage harness in the open waiting area. The station is also equipped with a Bike & Ride facility. The bus stop with bus connections to St. Pölten, Türnitz and Lilienfeld on the B20 is just a 5-minute walk away.
History of the site
Before the railroad connection was built, the municipality was primarily populated by farmers and craftsmen. With the opening of the line along the Traisentalbahn, more and more large companies settled in the area, creating a number of new jobs.
