It is also possible to visit the historic water crane and the weighing house. Tickets for trips on the quaint Waldviertel narrow-gauge railroad can be purchased directly on the trains or online.

Weitra Castle
Weitra Castle is just a short stroll from the train station. Numerous events as well as the possibility of renting the castle for weddings and events create a very special ambience with this cultural asset as a backdrop.
The history and secrets of the castle are made accessible to guests in the castle museum - and have been since the Lower Austrian provincial exhibition "From the Tower to the Cellars" in 1994.

As the oldest brewing town in Austria, Weitra is home to the Weitra Beer Trail through the tranquil old town. Along the signposted paths, you will learn lots of interesting facts about liquid gold at every turn and, of course, there is also the opportunity to taste some Weitra beer.
