Station Zellerndorf

The beautiful reception building at Zellerndorf station in the market town of the same name in the Lower Austrian district of Hollabrunn shines brightly behind the modern, glazed waiting booths on the platform. The central platform can be reached safely and easily via an underpass, where a ticket machine has also been installed for easy ticket purchase. In addition to loudspeaker announcements and timetable displays, the arrivals building also offers publicly accessible sanitary facilities. The Park & Ride facility provides secure parking for almost 140 cars and mopeds, and space has been created for more than 80 bicycles in the Bike & Ride station.

Route information

The Zellerndorf stop is located along the Nordwestbahn line. The Pulkautalbahn used to start in Zellerndorf, but this has since been decommissioned.

• Trains on the S3 express line to Retz and the main station in Wr. Neustadt stop here.
• Regional express trains to Retz and Znojmo, as well as to Unterretzbach, Vienna and Payerbach-Reichenau also stop here.
• There is a bus stop not far from the Zellerndorf train station with connections to the surrounding region.

Just a 20-minute walk from Zellerndorf train station, you can discover a real delicacy: the Maulavern wine cellar lane. This is considered to be one of the most beautiful and longest wine cellar lanes in the entire Weinviertel, and is also home to a grape variety trail and a cellar museum, which can be visited as part of the popular wine cellar lane tours, for example as part of the Berg und Tal hiking tour.

The picturesque area around Zellerndorf is also ideal for exploring by bike; the idyllic market town is the starting point and refreshment stop for many tours, such as the Veltliner Tour, a family-friendly themed trail that leads via the Maulavern wine cellar lane, the castle mill and the Kuchl and Kölla Museum back to the start in the town center.

The Watzelsdorf Water World Trail also starts in the center of the market town of Zellerndorf and is designed to be family-friendly. It leads past several ponds and watercourses and is the route of choice on hot days in particular.
