Train station Tulln

Train station

Description

The Tulln station, renovated in 2018, is located in the middle of the Lower Austrian garden city - with the banks of the Danube not far away. Two ticket vending machines have been installed for the purchase of tickets, and a ticket counter is also available during normal operating hours. Publicly accessible sanitary facilities, a well-kept waiting area, as well as the possibility to buy pastries and snacks for the journey complete the customer-friendly offer of the railway. The platforms can be reached barrier-free by means of underpasses and lifts, loudspeaker announcements and digital train destination displays make it easier to find your way around the large, modernly designed station.

The use of the train is made even more attractive by the almost 670 parking spaces for cars and mopeds in the Park & Ride facility. More than 550 bicycles find a parking space in the Bike & Ride Station.

Tip: There is a nextbike rental station directly at the station. The bikes are available in Lower Austria from April to mid-November. More information can be found on the website www.nextbike.at/de/niederoesterreich, or in the nextbike app.

Egon Schiele - in private

The reception building at Tulln station is worth a visit in itself, as it is the birthplace of the egocentric artist Egon Schiele, whose father was the station manager in 1890. The rooms have been furnished true to detail with partly original pieces of furniture in order to get a particularly authentic insight into the artist's attitude to life.

An even more intensive view of Egon Schiele's life's work can be gained in the Egon Schiele Museum. In addition to the exhibited works, numerous other information media are available here to explore the history of the painter. From the train station Tulln you can reach the museum in about 20 minutes on foot and on the way you can enjoy the enchanting city centre of Tulln.

Tip: A particularly impressive destination and the highlight of the summer months is only half an hour's walk from Tulln station: the "Garten Tulln". An impressive show garden with many themed gardens and lots of inspiration for the home - as well as the tree-top walk worth seeing and the largest nature playground in Austria.
