Weinbau Umschaid

The Umschaid labyrinth cellar in Herrnbaumgarten opens the door to a mysterious world. Behind the inconspicuous cellar door of a small wine cellar lane hides an extensive labyrinth of centuries-old cavities that have been connected over the last thirty years. Deep beneath the roots of the vines is a wine cellar with thousands of well-tempered wine bottles of all varieties and vintages. These wines are available for tasting during guided tours or events. The pleasant and consistently cool air of the extensive cellar system provides the perfect environment for tasting wine in the comfort of its place of origin. Nine samples of the lovingly crafted varieties are offered to registered groups, accompanied by fresh nut bread and a bottle of the best to take home. Cellar tours are available for groups of 15 people or more and last around two hours. The price per participant is 13 euros and includes a bottle of wine.
