Weingut Gerhard J. Lobner
WineryThis business is excellent…
Description
At the Gerhard J. Lobner winery, the wine doesn't just taste good, it tells a story. The story of the landscape, the climate and, above all, the winegrower himself. Gerhard J. Lobner, the successful manager of the Viennese wineries Mayer am Pfarrplatz and Rotes Haus, also took over the management of the family winery in Mannersdorf an der March in 2014. With a vineyard area of 10 hectares, the focus is on Grüne Veltliner and Riesling, with Riesling being particularly close to Lobner's heart. The terraced vineyards on the River March offer ideal conditions for Riesling, which produces wines with an expressive character. The Weinviertel DAC is characterized by spiciness, juiciness and minerality. Gerhard Lobner is also dedicated to the Welschriesling grape variety, which is typical of the Weinviertel but often underestimated. The fully ripe grapes are processed into a powerful, complex and elegant Welschriesling. The opportunity to both manage a winery like Mayer am Pfarrplatz and to practice the craft of winemaking on the small family business is a great challenge, but one that brings great joy.
