The mill

The mill was first mentioned in a document as early as 1258 and was rebuilt and reconstructed several times after several fires and devastation. Today it wears the architectural dress of the late 18th and early 19th century. In years of painstaking work, our family succeeded in lovingly restoring the old building down to the smallest detail and harmoniously integrating the few but necessary structural changes into the overall structure.Among other things, the desolate Francis turbine, built in 1899, was repaired in order to obtain the water rights for the mill. In autumn 2011, the turbine was revitalized and since then we have also been able to supply our electricity to the public grid.

Our family also restored the magnificent stucco ceiling in the private rooms. The mill is now a museum. Art and culture find their rightful place here at various events such as vernissages, exhibitions and concerts.

We are happy to give our guests a guided tour of the mill to give them an understanding of the toil and hardship of the time.

Guided tours: During our informative guided tours, we would like to give people an appreciation of rural life and work. We particularly welcome school and children's groups. Please register by telephone!
