Josef Schmid's wines not only unmistakably reflect the signature of the maker, they are also the result of hard work, diligence and perseverance combined with a great deal of empathy, know-how and passionate idealism. "Precious" Grüne Veltliners, lively and powerful.

The Schmid family has owned the vineyard in Stratzing near Krems since 1845. Josef Schmid has been running the 14 hectare winery since 1991, with the aim of placing his wines in the high-end gastronomy sector from the very beginning. With success, as the Grüne Veltliners and Rieslings from the Schmid estate can now be found on many recognized wine lists. At the winery, Josef Schmid concentrates on wine production and his wife Irene on administration and sales. Their offspring, Lena Marie, Katharine and Josef, keep the house lively and give their names to many a wine.
