The Hirsch Reinhard winery, known as Weinhirsch, is located around 7 km from Retz, with its vineyards surrounding the charming village of Watzelsdorf. Since 2013, the winery has been run with a blend of traditional knowledge and modern know-how, resulting in constant innovation and a certain amount of risk-taking. This approach has helped to make the estate's wines a special taste experience. Grüne Veltliner is the estate's main variety, but the climate is also perfect for other white wine varieties such as Müller Thurgau, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling and Riesling. The light, sandy soils are also ideal for growing red wine varieties such as Zweigelt, Blauburger, St. Laurent and Merlot.
