Weingut Herbert Zillinger

Description
The Herbert Zillinger winery is the proud steward of 16 hectares of biodynamically cultivated vineyards in the Vienna Basin, where loess, a sediment, sets the tone. This fine sand is formed from silicates such as quartz, feldspar, mica and clay minerals. The vineyard's most important sites are 'Hirschenreyn' and 'Kalkvogel'. A variety of flora and fauna, including ladybugs, Easter lice, ground squirrels, daisies, field mice, dandelions, butterflies, coltsfoot, bumblebees, yarrow, bees and meadow bellflowers, thrive in the vineyards. The switch to organic and, since 2016, biodynamic viticulture has been worthwhile not only because of this diversity, but also to improve the quality of the wines and convey a certain attitude towards life. The aim was to make the wines even better and more vibrant through this original way of working. The winery has been a proud member of the respekt-BIODYN biodynamic winegrowers' group since 2016.
