Winzerhof Mayr

The family business is located in Oberthern (municipality of Heldenberg). Franz and Christine Mayr work full-time at the winery. Their younger son Johannes, a graduate of the HBLA Klosterneuburg, is already contributing his acquired knowledge to the business and the seniors Franz and Anna Mayr are happy to help as much as they can. They cultivate 10 hectares of vineyards with Grüne Veltliner as the main variety. The extensive range includes traditional, indigenous varieties such as Frühroter Veltliner, internationally renowned grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and the red wine varieties Blauer Zweigelt and Blauburger. The focus is on fruity, varietal wines.

Working close to nature in the vineyard, modern cellar management combined with knowledge and experience are the guarantee for high-quality wines, which are regularly awarded prizes at various events, e.g. AWC Vienna or Landesweinverkostung Krems.

Individual customer service in the context of private wine tastings or vineyard tours is very important to the Mayr family. They take time for conversation and a good glass of wine and approach customers in a flexible, uncomplicated and competent manner.
