Description

At the gateway to the Sierningtal Nature Park, the Gösing rises 898 meters into the air. With its refuge and exciting caves, the mountain in the Gutenstein Alps is a popular excursion destination.

Several marked hiking routes lead up to the Neunkirchner Naturfreundehaus - also known as the Flatzer Huts. A leisurely ascent to the summit is possible from the hut. Here you can enjoy magnificent views as far as the Schneeberg.

Hiking trails on the Gösing

The Gösing can be easily hiked on two marked forest routes:

  • Ternitz - Kindwald - Gösing (summit)
  • Stixenstein, Flatz or Ternitz - Neunkirchner huts - Kranzstetten - Gösing (summit)

Other summit routes start in Würflach and Grünbach.

Extra tip: The Gösing is home to numerous fascinating caves - with equally fascinating names. Among others, the southern and western slopes are home to

  • the Warme Lucke,
  • the Strange Hole,
  • the Gösingkluft and
  • the Pechhäferl cave.
