Hausleiten

The market town of Hausleiten with the cadastral municipalities of Gaisruck, Goldgeben, Hausleiten, Perzendorf, Pettendorf, Schmida, Seitzersdorf-Wolfpassing, Zaina and Zissersdorf (with Ahragarten) has existed since 1971. The central administrative, school and business location, with the parish church of St. Agatha visible from afar, is situated on the high terrace of the Wagram - at the south-western end of the district of Korneuburg, between the Danube floodplains, the Tullner Feld and the northern hills.

The villages in the municipality have belonged to the parish of St. Agatha for many centuries. As a result, the political and parish parishes became congruent in 1971. The villages of the market town of Stetteldorf also belong to the school district. The municipality has two kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, a music school, a youth band, the St. Agatha choir, the public parish library, a sports club (since 1949), a theater group and the "Club Hausleiten", which carries out cultural activities in the broadest sense (concerts, readings, collecting and archiving, environmental protection and village renewal). In addition to the volunteer fire departments of the villages and the Kameradschaftsbund, village renewal and hobby clubs enrich life in the villages. Lively building activity in some parts of the municipality and the realization of some large-scale projects ensure a steady influx of new residents and new blood. Around 75% of the area of the market town is used for agriculture and forestry. There are around 135 farms.

In 2104, the "Kultur Verbindet" adventure hiking trail, a circular hiking trail of approx. 11 km in length, was opened. Since 2010, the Weinviertel Way of St. James has led through the market town over a distance of approx. 7 km. There is also a cycle path of approx. 20 km in the municipality.
