Reingers
There is literally always something going on in the municipality of Reingers in the district of Gmünd: Exceptional events and excursion destinations make the village in the northern Waldviertel a popular short break and adventure destination. The municipal area includes the villages of Reingers, Grametten, Hirschenschlag, Illmanns and Leopoldsdorf. Reingers is also home to the European watershed.
Reingers: hemp village & local history museum
In the hemp village of Reingers, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of this renewable raw material - and learn all about hemp in the exhibition and on a guided tour. The family-friendly inns in the area cater for your physical well-being.
The small museum in the Heimatstube Reingers is dedicated to the tragic history of the Sudeten Germans. This is also the starting point of the cross-border "Path of the 20th Century": it depicts the historical development of the region during the 20th century with all its dramatic upheavals. The themed trail can be taken as a shorter or longer route - or even better, by bike.
Ready, steady, tractor go!
Reingers has become well known as the venue for the annual 24-hour vintage tractor race. At this exceptional spectacle, countless tractors kick up a lot of dust - and compete in exciting competitions. A children's program, helicopter tours, chainsaw shows and other action round off the multi-day program.
