The Vienna Woods circular cycle tour

Cycling round the Vienna Woods is a great way to discover and explore culture and nature easily. On the Vienna Woods circular cycle tour, you will stay at selected guest houses that are particularly cyclist-friendly and enjoy visits to the numerous sights along the route. The 215-kilometre route enables pleasure cyclists to experience water, forested areas and wine with very few inclines. The majority of this varied route is indicated by the Wiener Neustadt Canal and four rivers, namely the Danube, the Traisen, the Gölsen, the Triesting. The stages along the Danube and the Traisen are lined by riparian forest, which then merges into pre-Alpine forest before Lilienfeld, the most forested region in Austria. Wine is also readily available in three places: Klosterneuburg, the Traisen Valley and the Thermal Region impress with excellent wines and encourage visitors to come and sample them.
One possible starting point for the tour is Vienna. Follow the Vienna cycle route signs until you get to the Danube cycle route to start with before following the signs along the Danube cycle route (EuroVelo 6), the Traisen Valley cycle route (no. 4), the Triesting-Gölsental cycle route (no. 42) and finally the Thermal cycle route (EuroVelo 9).
