Dorfschmiede

Tavern / inn

This business is excellent…

  • Lower Austrian inn culture

Description

It is well known: A visit to the village smithy in Ludwigsdorf near Zeillern improves your mood. Guests are on fire. There are several reasons for this: Wolfgang Bruckner's cuisine is down-to-earth, with a regional touch and an original approach. The rustic restaurant could almost pass for an insider tip. But only almost. The reputation of the excellent dishes has long since left these latitudes. Among the starters, it is the Mostviertel cream soup that reflects the taste of the region. The oven-fresh roast pork with potato dumplings and bacon cabbage is a poem. Beef goulash, Wirtshaus curry and the excellent Rahmbeuschel are classics that never go amiss.

From horseshoe smith to innkeeper

The Dorfschmiede is a family business. Where Wolfgang Bruckner's father once forged horseshoes, the restaurant and smithy merged into a harmonious unit in 1992. A mighty anvil and the open fire give the restaurant a special flair today. But it is not only the premises of the former forge that tell a story. The regional dishes are and remain committed to tradition - Cider and pears like to take the limelight and provide a talking point. In the summer months, the aroma of barbecued food fills the air. Not in the inn, but on the cozy terrace. Yes, parties are celebrated here. Even in the banqueting hall, which has room for 60 people.
