Description

Quo vadis? In the direction of Schneebergland, at the foot of the Puchberg. The Apfelbauer inn was built around 200 years ago at the beginning of the idyllic Miesenbach valley. The traditional inn is currently run by landlord Markus Kuchner, who knows how to make the most of the region's special features. The hotel's own vegetable, herb and fruit garden is growing and thriving. The dyke garden was largely shaped by nature itself. The interiors present themselves in a country style. Above all, the cuisine is appealing with its skillful balance between reliable down-to-earthness and fresh ideas. The rice meat, an "Apfelbauer original", is a popular order. Served with risotto rice, mushrooms, fresh peppers and grated mountain cheese. The steamed Alpine salmon with mashed potatoes is always good.

From apple farmer to salamander

The name of the Apfelbauer restaurant gives it away. The sweet fruit is added to the dishes in many different variations. Tip for the perfect end to a meal at the inn: the caramelized apple pancake with homemade curd rum ice cream is delicious. The family-run traditional inn in the Viennese Alps in Lower Austria stands for a harmonious whole, just like the kitchen line. The guest garden invites you to linger. Another plus point for families is the spacious children's playground. The Schneebergbahn cable car is very close by. The cog railroad - also known as the Salamander - takes you comfortably up the highest mountain in Lower Austria.
