Gasthaus Ellinger

Tavern / inn

This business is excellent…

  • Lower Austrian inn culture

Description

The Mostviertler Schnitzel with crispy potato breading - a choice of pork or turkey - is prominently listed on the menu at Gasthaus Ellinger. And with good reason. A universally popular main course that stands for the house cooking line. Lots of meat. Lots of reference to the homeland. The in-house beef roulades reveal a red-white-red taste sensation. Stuffed, wrapped and delicately seared by host Heinrich Ellinger in St. Peter in der Au. Traditional cuisine from the Mostviertel region, representing the typical Lower Austrian tavern culture. The bar, very memorable, dates back to 1940. The original Art Nouveau windows have seen a few more years, but have lost none of their splendor. A real feast for the eyes.

In harmony with the seasons

Gasthaus Ellinger relies on one constant: Cohesion. A family business through and through. Mother and son work in service and exude hospitality. They are happy to talk about the restaurant's specialty weeks: steak, fish, asparagus, chanterelles, game, goose - the influence of the region is unmistakable. The list of partner businesses seems endless. Over the years, the restaurant has adapted to seasonal conditions. This also applies to their own pub garden. A shady retreat that is the preferred choice among guests in midsummer. A spacious extra room offers the desired ambience for family celebrations. Seitenstetten Abbey and the basilica on Sonntagberg promise an excursion with guaranteed quality.
