Description

Innkeepers make our cultural assets a good deal better. They are the ones who embody the values of the Lower Austrian tavern culture with their lived hospitality, their attachment to the region and traditional dishes that have been courageously reinterpreted. Sustainability and regionality are also the core values of the Gusenbauer inn in Krems-Thallern. Most of the products are sourced from our own wine, fruit and vegetable garden or local farms. Always keeping an overview Hostess Astrid Michaela Wagensonner, who takes care of the well-being of her guests with her team. Since 1897, the Gasthaus Gusenbauer has been family-owned. In addition to the pressing of wines, which are popular both upstream and downstream, the Marille is offered a large stage.

Lived wine and tavern culture
The Gasthaus Gusenbauer offers a well-known ambience with a stammtisch, tavern, dining room, banquet hall and tavern garden. The roasted dumplings with egg and green salad, the cordon bleu with parsley or the crispy fried tuna medallions with garlic and vegetables show: a typical tavern cuisine is served in the middle of the wine and fruit gardens of Thallern. The location couldn’t be better. Not only locals come to the village tavern located directly on the mining memorial trail and the Marillen hiking trail. Too good and well-known are the desserts, especially the apricot pancakes and cake. An opportunity to experience the tavern and winery in the best possible way is the annual Kellergassenfest.
