Gasthaus Kappl - "Die Suppenfeen"

In the heart of the Mostviertel, directly on the Moststraße, the "soup fairies" Angelika and Evelyn Kappl welcome you to Gasthaus Kappl. The restaurant is best known for its legendary beef soup - up to 700 liters of which are cooked on a Sunday. The specialty is also available to take away in the "Suppothek".

The two landladies run the family business with their own farm: Angus cattle breeding, a herb and fruit garden and the rearing of their own Martini geese form the basis for the fresh ingredients used in the kitchen. In addition to regional, traditional dishes and drinks, Angelika and Evelyn attach great importance to seasonal vegan and vegetarian dishes.

The inn itself looks back on a long history - in the cozy dining room, the antique wooden ceiling dating back to 1640 is impressive. On guided tours, guests can learn more about the history of the house and, of course, about the famous Kappl soup. A large function room with seating for up to 400 people is available for celebrations, as is the atmospheric Kellerstüberl.

In summer, the beautiful guest garden under old trees invites you to linger, while children get their money's worth at the nearby forest playground in Biberbach.
An excursion to the Lammerhuber-Blick-Weg with its magnificent view over the Mostviertel is also worthwhile - it can be reached by bike or by car.
