Gasthaus Kraus - Zur Wallfahrtskirche
Tavern / innThis business is excellent…
Description
Landlord Markus Kraus has a lot of experience and even more flair in his family-run inn in Schollach. Whether freshly cooked home cooking, juicy burgers or vegan delicacies - the "Gasthaus Kraus - Zur Wallfahrtskirche" caters to the tastes of many. But first things first: The menu is down-to-earth and extensive. The oven-fresh roast pork is served with potato dumplings and warm coleslaw. On the vegetarian side, the spinach dumplings with mountain cheese, brown butter and tomato ragout are impressive. When it comes to desserts, the curd cheese strudel, Kaiserschmarrn and Waldviertler poppy seed cake are a must-try on site.
Culinary culture meets cultural enjoyment
Traditions have been cultivated at the "Gasthaus Kraus - Zur Wallfahrtskirche" since 1880. The family business in Schollach is now in its fifth generation. There is no mistaking it: Cultural enjoyment meets culinary culture in this idyllic village. The Maria Steinparz pilgrimage church characterizes this enchanting section of the Melk district. As does the nearby Schallaburg. Pilgrims, excursionists and regular guests stop off at the inn. The rustic parlor, the "Kaminstüberl" and ballroom offer an appealing ambience. Due to its special atmosphere, the vaulted cellar is often booked exclusively for events. Guests are close to nature in the pub garden, where they can sit and enjoy themselves.
