Gasthaus zum Grünen Baum - Kummer
Tavern / innThis business is excellent…
Description
A successful inn needs a well thought-out concept. That of the Gasthaus zum grünen Baum in Gresten in the small Erlauftal valley is coherent all round. The basic prerequisite is high quality food and drink. Landlady Renate Kummer pays meticulous attention to this. Added to this is a strong pinch of hospitality and regional craftsmanship in the kitchen. This is how guests enjoy their food best. The region must be tangible on the plate. Finely prepared with seasonal delicacies. Game specialties are in demand at this traditional restaurant. Venison, deer and wild boar are prepared with the utmost professionalism. They are regularly grilled on a three-meter-long stone slab. Vegetarians will love the 2 kinds of Mostviertel sheep's cheese.
From the pan forge to the inn
The history of the Gasthaus zum grünen Baum dates back to 1665. It was once a blacksmith's shop. How fitting that a traditional business now stands on the same site, spoiling its guests with home-style cooking. The Kummer family has been providing the culinary highlights since 1964. The premises are flooded with light throughout and exude a cozy atmosphere. The Whiskystüberl, which was built in 2008, is characteristically strong. In the cozy guest garden there is an arbor protected from wind and weather. A true oasis of well-being. The modern, comfortable rooms in the adjoining building directly on the Erlauf are probably some of the most beautiful guest rooms in the region.
