Description

In the Biedermeier period, fried chicken was the exclusive preserve of the upper middle classes. Those days belong to history. Nowadays, baked poultry is accessible to everyone. If you want to experience this pub classic to perfection, head to Gasthof Ebner in Lilienfeld. Thursday has been renamed Baked Chicken Day. There are plenty of crispy and golden fried dishes on the Ebner family's menu. The Lilienfelder Schnitzel and pork cordon bleu in particular make it clear that guests are offered down-to-earth and traditional tavern cuisine. Regional wines, natural juices and cider from the Kaiser in Wilhelmsburg are recommended among the drinks. The homemade pastries sweeten the visit to the inn.

Fried chicken and excursions

Gasthof Ebner is run by landlady Martina Ebner. The top chef has been creating culinary highlights in the region since 1994. The inn exudes coziness. The entrance area is rustic and has a rustic bar. Dining, laughing and communicating take place primarily in the charming dining room and the ballroom, which can accommodate 60 people. The award-winning guest garden with chestnut trees is an eye-catcher and popular resting place in the summer months. Thanks to its location right next to the Lilienfeld train station, the restaurant is a popular stop for day-trippers. The Muckenkogel, around four kilometers away, is a popular excursion destination before or after a visit to the inn. The Via Sacra, the famous pilgrimage route to Mariazell, also passes not far from the inn.
