Description

Despite the innovative and varied menu, guests often opt for the Waldviertel specialities. The traditionally prepared poppy seed noodles, potato pancakes and roast pork are too good and coherent. Innkeepers Renate and Leopold Hofbauer are known for putting a good piece of home on your plate. The best proof of this is the beef roulade made from organic Waldviertel willow young cattle with potato dumplings. The inclination towards regionality is the decisive criterion for local guests to visit the inn in Litschau in the district of Gmünd. But the holiday, excursion and hiking guest also appreciates the advantages of the house. The homemade jams, pestos and syrups are particularly popular with everyone.

Culinary impulses on the town square

This rustic inn on the town square in Litschau has been around since 1847. The Kaufmann Inn has been in the hands of the Hofbauer family since 2007. The down-to-earth inn cuisine is brought to the people by the attentive service staff in the restaurant, in the inner courtyard or in the garden. The wine and beer list is characterised by the Waldviertel region. For desserts, the home-baked delicacies are delicious. Guests can't get enough of the Powidltascherln with butter crumbs, nuts and poppy seeds. Many regional delicacies can be found in the sales showcase of the inn. Tip: Not far from Litschau is the Cheese Makers' World in Heidenreichstein - a worthwhile destination for an excursion.
