Gasthof zur Eiche

Tavern / inn

This business is excellent…

  • Lower Austrian inn culture

Description

The path to the Gasthof zur Eiche leads past temptations that are hard to resist. Stuffed dumplings in all variations are produced in the in-house inn dumpling factory in Maria Dreieichen. There seem to be no limits to the variety: The grammel, meat, blunzen, cheese, spinach, apricot, poppy seed and plum dumplings are just a small selection from the menu. It shows the Waldviertel in all its splendor. Regional vegetable and meat producers supply the high-quality produce directly to the inn's kitchen. Aside from the dumplings, deer goulash with porcini mushrooms or oven-fresh roasts are specialties of the house. The homemade curd cheese strudel usually completes the culinary journey.

Two innkeepers on a culinary mission

The two dedicated innkeepers Alexandra Turek and Christian Vlasaty have been running the country-style establishment since 2014. Thanks to its location, Gasthof zur Eiche is a great starting point for a well-kept excursion to Rosenburg Castle, Gars am Kamp or Altenburg Abbey. The other advantages of the inn are obvious: the family-run business in the pilgrimage town is around five kilometers from Horn and is a popular venue for various festivities thanks to its spacious rooms. The well-tended guest garden impresses with its pleasant atmosphere and offers guests added value in the warmer months of the year. Comfortable guest rooms can be booked for longer stays.
