Igel

Founded in 1979, the Waidhofen Folk Club, which is known far beyond the town's borders, organizes folk, worl music, jazz and blues concerts in its club venue "Igel", which is located right next to the town wall. The MV Folk Club Waidhofen/Thaya is unique in Austria as a concert organizer of these genres off the beaten track of the commercialized mainstream, primarily due to its organizational structure. Judging by the names of the artists performing, the Folk Club is on a par with the major concert and festival organizers in Austria. This requires professional work in all areas, and this is carried out by the club's more than one hundred employees, all of whom work on a voluntary basis.
