Description

The hosts Gisela and Johannes Winkelhofer show what the Weinviertel has to offer in culinary terms in their family-friendly country inn in Eggendorf. Their own farm underlines their regional claim. The beef tartare comes from the cattle on the farm, the lamb from their own sheep. Vegetables and herbs are taken from the inn's garden. The pumpkin seed oil is produced in-house and enhances individual dishes. When the creative menu exceeds the possibilities of home-grown produce, the Winkelhofer family relies on trusted suppliers. Mrs. Neuhold's organic vegetables from Reikersdorf, four kilometers away, are always crisp and fresh. Sparks fly in the kitchen. Johannes Winkelhofer is known for his passionate approach in the kitchen.

Award-winning restaurant with viticulture and agriculture

This dedication to his profession has a positive effect on the end product. A culinary journey through the Weinviertel awaits guests. Game dishes are in seasonal demand. The animals are shot by local hunters and then delivered to the Landgasthof. Word has gotten around about the resulting dishes. The saddle of venison with porcini mushroom risotto is a winner across the board. The delicacies can be enjoyed in the dining room or in two separate rooms. The inner courtyard of the award-winning restaurant is charming. The flowers at the table come from their own garden. The Winkelhofer family also has a hand in the wine. The Frührote Veltliner from their own vineyards is excellent.
