Landgasthof zum Schwarzen Adler
Tavern / innThis business is excellent…
Description
The eagle sits enthroned above the entrance gate. It stands for vision, courage and strength. Values that are also reflected in the cuisine of the Landgasthof zum Schwarzen Adler in Altenmarkt. Landlord Alexander Rehberger and his team serve guests a new interpretation of inn cuisine. The kitchen line is described as "close to home" - yet international influences are clearly noticeable. As befits a traditional inn, the offal is a testament to the art of cooking. Brains, liver and kidneys are delicately prepared. The fried chicken is golden brown. A classic dish that has lost none of its luster in modern times. Quite the opposite. And just like the oven-fresh roast pork. It is seasoned with fresh herbs from the garden.
The country inn on the pilgrimage route
The Landgasthof zum Schwarzen Adler is an inn with a long tradition. The house in Altenmarkt number 6 was first mentioned in a document in 1465. A lot has changed since then. Although that's not entirely true. The atmosphere of the pub is still reminiscent of days gone by. Cosiness and tradition are more important to the Rehberger family than modern design without history. In the summer months, the quiet, shady garden is a popular meeting place for families and ambitious excursionists and hikers. The location directly on the Via Sacra is a real temptation to make a pilgrimage to the inn.
We wish you a pleasant stay in our inn and hope that you feel completely at ease!
