For Harald Pollak, his profession as a host and chef is a vocation. A fundamental decision from which the entire Weinviertel still benefits today. The Retzbacherhof in Unterretzbach has been setting culinary trends since 2004. Traditional skills, combined with ever new ideas in the kitchen, make the inn one of the most sought-after addresses in Lower Austria. Guests are usually greeted by the patroness of the establishment, Sonja Pollak. Passing the delightful cooking and wine school, guests arrive at the invitingly laid tables in the Salettl. The 400-year-old wooden ceiling is both memorable and unique. The spacious garden with its chestnut trees offers a shady spot in summer.

The food at the Retzbacherhof is traditional and seasonal. The credo is: "You can eat character." This means that the region must be tangible. The basis for this is our own herb garden and close cooperation with local partner businesses. The Weinviertel con carne from Alpine beef is served with green pointed peppers, organic eggs and roast potatoes. We recommend the farmer's blunzen on chili coleslaw or the pink roasted pork fillet with sardine cream. Great attention is also paid to meatless cuisine. The wine list is characterized by wines from the surrounding vineyards. Sonja Pollak's pastries are the crowning glory of the Weinviertel restaurant.
