Description

Feel good at the Retzbacherhof! Regional cuisine and exquisite wines from the Weinviertel invite you to linger. Simply "enjoy" in the large guest garden under the shady old chestnut trees or in our beautiful salettl.

For Harald Pollak, his profession as an innkeeper and chef is a vocation. A fundamental decision from which the entire Weinviertel region still benefits today. The Retzbacherhof in Unterretzbach has been providing culinary impulses since 2004. Traditional skills combined with ever new ideas in the kitchen make the inn one of the most sought-after addresses in Lower Austria. Guests are usually welcomed by the patroness of the house, Sonja Pollak. Passing the delightful cooking and wine school, the guest arrives at the invitingly set tables in the Salettl. The 400-year-old wooden ceiling is both memorable and unique. The generously designed inn garden with chestnut trees offers a shady spot in summer.

Character on the Weinviertel Plate

The dishes at the Retzbacherhof are traditional and seasonal. The credo is: "You can eat character". Means: The region must be tangible. The basis is the own herb garden as well as the close cooperation with local partner businesses. The Weinviertel con carne of Alpine beef is served with green pointed peppers, organic eggs and roast potatoes. The farmer's blunzen on chilli cabbage salad or the pink roasted pork fillet with sardine cream are recommended. Great attention is also paid to meat-free cuisine. The wine list is dominated by wines from the surrounding wineries. Sonja Pollak's pastries are the crowning glory in the Weinviertel gourmet restaurant.
