This business is excellent…

Description

On 887 m above sea level, the Vorderötscher Mountain Hut invites hikers, urban refugees and nature lovers to take a rest and stay a while. Here you eat within old walls with a modern touch while rutting stags are wandering through the magnificent mountain panorama.

Paying careful attention to the preservation of the original structure, the Vorderötscher mountain hut was carefully renovated while considering modern aspects. After the last finalizing tasks, it was reopened in August 2014. As the dream location at the end of the popular Ötschergräben (Ötscher Gorges) – the Grand Canyon of Austria -, the Vorderötscher mountain hut is the perfect starting point for hikes on the mighty Mt. Ötscher or Mt. Gemeindealpe. In autumn, the region presents a particularly impressive spectacle of nature: During the deer rutting season, the game practically strolls past the hut and the rutting calls are hard to miss.

The cosy Vorderötscher refreshment station is not only tempting hikers with its regional delicacies but also inexpensive communal bunks and lovely rooms for staying the night. By appointment, the Vorderötscher Mountain hut offers nine newly designed, traditional and simple rooms with a total of 18 double and single beds as well as two communal bunks with 20 sleeping berths – enough room for your hike with friends, the family or colleagues.
