Description

The Haimel winery stands for a living winemaking tradition that emphasises quality, sustainability and innovation.
At home in the small and fine wine-growing region of Traisental in Lower Austria, the Haimel family cultivates 5.5 hectares of vineyards. The focus is on producing varietal wines that reflect the character of the region.  Grüner Veltliner in particular plays a central role in this. The portfolio is complemented by the fungus-resistant grape varieties, PIWIS for short. Sustainability is not just a buzzword for the Haimel winery, but a lived practice. The family favours the careful use of natural resources and near-natural cultivation of the vineyards in order to preserve the authenticity of the wines.

PIWIDA

The daughter of the house presents her new brand PIWIDA.

Ida's new brand ‘piwida’ is a play on words that describes exactly what the PIWIDA brand promises: the best PIWI grape varieties vinified by Ida Haimel. PIWIS are future-orientated and sustainable grape varieties that require significantly less plant protection due to their robustness. This is good for the climate in many ways. You can taste and enjoy the new PIWIDA range at our wine tavern in the winery.
