Description
Weinhof Ettenauer, run by Johann and Annemarie Ettenauer, is an inviting wine and wine tavern in Höbenbach, south-east of Göttweig Abbey. The idyllic location creates a relaxed atmosphere as soon as you arrive - surrounded by vineyards and in the immediate vicinity of the orchard with apricot, apple and plum trees.
The vineyards cover around 4 hectares, in strong locations such as Gottschelle, Leithen and Himmelreich. The soils are a sandy loess-loam mixture, ideal for varieties such as Grüne Veltliner, Riesling, Gelber Muskateller and Zweigelt. Great importance is attached to natural cultivation: pruning, care and harvesting are carried out carefully, and glyphosate and insecticides have been deliberately avoided for years.
The modern wine tavern was newly built in 2009. Visitors to Weinhof Ettenauer can take a seat in the stylishly furnished interior or sit in the partially covered courtyard - a great way to enjoy wine and food in the open air, especially in the warmer months.
The wine tavern is open five times a year - at certain times, the dates are announced regularly. On these days, guests are pampered on the farm as well as at the wine tavern with "Achterln" and our own wines, homemade wine tavern specialties, sweet pastries and soothing brandies
