The 13 villages of the market town of Pölla with the 3 parishes of Altpölla, Franzen and Neupölla are located in the middle of the Waldviertel.

Immerse yourself in earlier times by visiting the ruins of Schauenstein and Dobra or the Friedenskirche Döllersheim, which is a memorial to the resettlement in the Waldviertel. The "Frauenluckn" rock cave in Schmerbach am Kamp is a surviving reminder of the Palaeolithic period.
