Brief description

Discover Seitenstetten - the leisurely bike tour for young and old

Description

The tour starts at the Benedictine monastery in Seitenstetten. Pass the Meierhof farm and follow the road in a south-easterly direction. After around 800 m, turn left before the Franzosenwald forest.

After 1.6 km, turn left again at the Hofing farmhouses and follow the goods road to its end. Turn right there and then immediately left again at the Schinting chapel.

The path now leads straight on to the main road.

Cross this road and continue to the Wieser sawmill. Turn left here, cross a bridge and follow the path uphill to the B 122 - be careful, busy road!

Turn right here and after around 500 meters you will reach the Hochstraß farmhouses.

Immediately after the Pfeiffer chapel, leave the main road on the left and continue to the Westbahn underpass. Before the underpass, turn left and follow the path along the railroad line to the Seitenstetten glider airfield.

Here you can take a break - you can watch the planes take off and land in the pizzeria or experience the Mostviertel from a bird's eye view on a sightseeing flight.

The route then continues to the L88 country road. Turn left here and then immediately right again towards Neudaumühle.

Follow the road to Weidersdorf and after approx. 8.5 km you come to a fork, keep left and then cycle uphill until you reach the B 122.

Turn left there, cycle through the farmhouses into the Lindensiedlung and follow the Lindenweg over the Steyrer Gasse. Continue straight ahead along the promenade to Bahnhofstraße. Now turn right and you reach the market square again, where cozy inns and cafés invite you to stop for a bite to eat.

Finally, you return to Seitenstetten Benedictine Abbey, the starting point of the tour.

There is a playground and a pump track for children to let off steam at the club center.
