Großdietmanns

The Waldviertel market town of Großdietmanns is located in the district of Gmünd - in the Lainsitz valley. The municipality includes the villages of Dietmanns, Ehrendorf, Eichberg and Höhenberg as well as Hörmanns bei Weitra, Reinpolz, Unterlembach and Wielands.

Großdietmanns is considered a traditional community. The specially created traditional costume aims to unite generations. The annual "Dirndl Weiber Tee" campaign benefits charitable causes.

Großdietmanns: important churches and chapels

The listed Dietmanns parish church is dedicated to the Fourteen Holy Helpers. The late Gothic building combines Romanesque and Baroque elements. There is another beautiful parish church in Höhenberg. It dates back to the 13th century - with a Gothic choir and Romanesque core. The numerous chapels in the municipality of Großdietmanns were built in the 18th and 19th centuries.
