Blockheide-Eibenstein Nature Park

Description
In the north-west of the Waldviertel, the Blockheide Nature Park awaits you with bizarre granite formations, tranquil forests, gentle meadows, heathland, hidden forest ponds and natural stream valleys. The unique wobbling stones are famous - rocks shaped by nature over millions of years that appear to balance on their base. Surrounded by myths and legends, they attract visitors from near and far.
Hikes through the nature park lead through rural cultural landscapes with mixed forests, wet meadows and small-scale fields. Rare plants and animals such as marsh grasshoppers and common heather find a habitat here. Themed trails connect exciting highlights: playgrounds, the 15th earth meridian, a former water reservoir as an information center and the 30-meter-high observation tower with a panoramic view of the region.
Special stones such as the Christophorus Stone, the Mushroom Stone and the Goblin Stones inspire visitors with their unusual shapes, reminiscent of pyramids, loaves of bread or elephants. Malerwinkel and Mondteiche offer idyllic resting places: clear streams, small ponds and hidden forest areas invite you to discover and dream.
The Blockheide Nature Park in the Waldviertel is a place for nature lovers, hikers and families, a destination to experience geological wonders, species-rich cultural landscapes and legendary granite rocks up close.
