Pfaffenschlag: Places of interest in the municipality

The parish church of St. Martin is particularly impressive due to its various architectural elements. Its core is Romanesque and Gothic. The church was remodeled in the 19th century. A historic three-sided courtyard from the 18th century still stands in Schwarzenberg today. In Großeberharts, you can discover the pretty village chapel from 1873 and a small wayside chapel from 1731.

Hiking and cycling around Pfaffenschlag

Pfaffenschlag is located on beautiful hiking routes such as the East Austrian Borderland Trail 607, which runs from Nebelstein to Bad Radkersburg, and the Thayatalweg 630, which runs from Nebelstein to Retz in the Weinviertel, both of which take the same route through the municipality of Pfaffenschlag.
Those who prefer to saddle up their bike rather than lace up their hiking boots are well advised to take the Teiche cycle route (medium, approx. 50 km). This crosses the villages of Pfaffenschlag and Schwarzenberg and connects the municipality with the Thayarunde in Waidhofen/Thaya (Pfaffenschlag - Waidhofen/Thaya approx. 8 km). In Waidhofen/Thaya you can join the 2nd stage of the Thayarunde (Waidhofen/Thaya - Slavonice).
