Description

Most fruit hiking trail Seitenstetten – experience nature, culture, and expansive views

The Most fruit hiking trail begins directly at the magnificent Benedictine Abbey Seitenstetten and leads into a charming cultural landscape with numerous fruit trees – ideal for enjoying nature, regional history, and views of the Alpine foothills.

From the abbey, walk south past the abbey parking lot to the fork near the so-called Franzosenwald. An iron cross there commemorates soldiers who once died fighting the French.

Here, keep left and follow a leisurely field path to the first houses of the village Hofing. At the intersection, turn right onto the paved farm road "Steingrub." The path gently ascends – soon you reach the farm by the same name and continue uphill to Blümelsberg hill.

At the top awaits a breathtaking panoramic view of the Mostviertel Alpine foothills. At Blümelsberg Heights is a panorama plate that allows you to identify notable mountains and towns. On clear days, the view to the north reaches the Mühl- and Waldviertel, and to the south even as far as Sonntagberg, Hochkar, Ötscher, and beyond.

The path now leads downhill past the Blümelsberg farm. After about 500 meters, you reach a crossroads – here turn left and walk through a small forest down to the state road.

There turn left again and follow the road back towards Seitenstetten. The return path leads through the idyllic Haiderholz, past the Haider houses, the small Schintinger Chapel, and the Dachsbach settlement.

Shortly before the town center, turn left once more on a paved path that leads directly back to the starting point at the abbey.
