In earlier times, Markt Ardagger was known as the "Golden Market" and had up to eleven inns. St. Nicholas is the patron saint of boatmen and before sailing through the once dangerous Strudengau, people went up to pray. The skippers' guild also provided plumb bobs for passing ships and rafts through the Strudengau. The Danube flowed alongside the village until 1722.

In 2015, the conversion and extension of the former historic police building around Ardagger, Markt 60, began. The building was renovated in countless stages and furnished in a very modern style for today. Pictures and details are reminiscent of the building's history, while the furnishings leave nothing to be desired.

Features: fitted kitchen, open kitchen/living area with (partly) pull-out couch, LCD TV, parquet/tiled floor, light-flooded windows (partly with plisees, large double bed, with shower or bathtub, Wlan connection throughout the building.
