Winter in Lower Austria

Lower Austria is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts, chalet-lovers and families alike.

Some want to be on the piste from dawn till dusk, others want to enjoy the cosy downtime that Winter offers. Lower Austria is the ideal place to charge up your batteries. If your day starts in the snow and ends with a leisurely evening in the chalet, you have discovered Winter in Lower Austria.

Skiing and snowboarding. Where else can winter sports enthusiasts enjoy skiing down a virgin slope at sunrise? The "Guga Hö" skiing experience in the Mostviertel mountains sees wide-awake skiers and snowboarders speeding down the slopes in the early morning before warming up over a delicious chalet brunch, surrounded by wonderful views. It is not only early birds but also young and old, beginners and returners who can enjoy Lower Austria's choice of ski runs – with more than 200 km of piste in around 20 ski resorts – and all at a reasonable price, particularly for families.

Winter off-piste. Well wrapped-up winter hikers walk through our winter landscape and can always find a hut to warm themselves around the stove.

Experience the magic of our Winter snowscape.
